Yes another fabulous write ... The new year bought with it a heat wave my side and plenty of rain to boot so in the sultry lather encasing my spirit I find I am cleansed and renewed X

Thank you for all of the reviews and for your comments.
I think winter inspires some and for those like me, it puts our creative juices in hibernation. Obviously you are one of the chosen few and winter looks kindly upon you and, in turn, your praise decorates it to a new spendlor. As always, an excellent work.

Thank you for reading my writing. Your comments carry much meaning for me.
It is funny how a whitewashed landscape gives birth to thoughts so unique to each and every one of us. The infinite possibilities of a fresh start, like the first page of a new journal, pristine and gleaming, tempting you to fill the page with thoughts, yet pausing a little longer to remember the beauty of the moment before the ink bleeds your thoughts.
So many great lines in this piece it hardly seems fair to point out any single part, but my eyes were drawn back, time and again to the line, "chilling the nakedness of hope"....It seems to me that line itself conjures enough images in itself to warrant its own story.
Superb write David.

Thank you kindly. Your review is a great encouragement.
David, I am getting a feeling of "Film Noir" as I am re-reading your poem as I review it. Black and white, shades of grey, mist and shadows! Solid form giving itself away to an atmosphere where everything seems to be waiting for something to happen next so a progression forward will begin. A poem that was well worth reading and well worth my recommending!

Thank you very much. I appreciate the compliment. I actually liked this one myself.
Naked snow angels...woo hoo
shivering bright pink erotica
That became the what if, in my mind, an imagined passionate scenario in the new snow.
I love the incubation/hibernation analogy Bear

Admittedly not the central theme, but incomplete without it.
Oh, I have made such snow angles. The Bear spirit walks with me ever. I am not the Bear, but he is a companion. Ah, but you know this...
Thank you for the review Softy.

'.. focusing the grey contrasts of what ifs -- into imaginations of black and white, '
Beautiful, thoughtful.. I love January in spite of its cold and wet. 'Think of snow as a blank canvas, hiding what might be when the imagination takes hold and, of course, when Nature starts its annual dance.
You've created patterns of suggestion here, and maybe each of us will see it differently, maybe that's how it's meant to be.' Wanted to lift a quote from your final stanza, but each word needs another... tis a piece of theatre as it stands whole. From that 'whole', the scene is set or not - maybe still incubating.
