The Fairest Blossom

The Fairest Blossom

A Poem by David Scott

You are but one transparent soul

picked carefully

from the garden of immortality,

displayed delicately

in the graceful vase

of feminine flesh?

And you,

the fairest blossom

gathered, as a prize

adorning the bride of Earth…

Even as the ink dries

upon each deed,

 a poem spent;

 one more petal wilted

upon the page of history,

your legacy lingers, fragrant ever

upon the hearts and minds

of all who love you ~

What I like about this one is its universal appeal -- applied to a loved one with us or not, it is a lovely piece.
