Too Pretty For Progress

Too Pretty For Progress

A Poem by Breezie Kae

If God were to be listening
to the prayers and the struggles of
the miracle-hungry martyr,
would it be through hedgehog or dove?

As you see, only obstructive
(or destructive) forces break through
skin, such prettiness as a dove
won't cause reaction to ensue.

The dove is much too pretty for progress.

Yet the hedgehog, you won't want to
touch - needles pierce through skin, you bleed;
but without blood loss you cannot
transfuse, make a new, better scene.

Your prayer's answer is destruction
to bring re-colonization.
This is why our martyrs bring us
our essential realizations.

There is no progress without the hedgehog.
