Take Two

Take Two

A Poem by Breezie Kae
"

A Villanelle.

"

Take two, different scene, it’s close enough to touch;

predictions did show I’d be closer to the end,

but the thought alone is way too much.

Against my own self, I did hold a grudge;

I never understood why it hurt to comprehend:

Take two, different scene, it’s close enough to touch

Ironically, my optimism only made me think of

everything I was hiding, though it’s starting to transcend -

but the thought alone is way too much.

So look at me again, because I didn’t mean much

of the words I said or the thoughts I penned:

Take two, different scene, it’s close enough to touch

It could have been better, but the times have been fun,

I could always stop and look at all the time I never spent,

but the thought alone is way too much.

So I won’t expect much from what can’t be undone,

I will only try again to make my amends.

Take two, different scene, it’s close enough to touch,

but the thought alone is way too much.
