our type of girlA Poem by Lizzie MadlochWe are the embodiment of sand-in-hair liberation. We’re muscles knowing that nothing worth having comes easy. We’re made up of memories of learning to kiss boys (and girls). Me and sweat and blood. Pretty pink glory. We don’t come in bow-tied boxes or live on pedestals. We read thick books and climb up mountains getting ready to swallow the whole world with our gap-filled teeth.© 2016 Lizzie Madloch |
