Ship in a Bottle

Ship in a Bottle

A Poem by getinthecarplease

I've been starboard lounging,
taking ganders at the sea-green sky,
wrapped in old aromas
of ocean and frontier rye,
gripped in wonder - it seems we're aground
where the plunder
of tropic campaigns can't be found.

An odyssey, thoroughly taxidermied;
a ship in a bottle, a trinket on the shelf.
I've been port-bow lounging,
taking inventory of myself.
