A big fight with Angela

"
THUG   (part 4-B)

Something about women bothered Tom.  He just simply
did not understand Angela.  She drove him mercilessly.
She picked at him.  He could not make the simplest mistake
without some type of reprimand.

Talking to Billy about Angela`s attitude, Billy just shrugged
and said , "women"  I can`t figure them out.

The stress of being overworked and trying to please Angela
was becoming too much for Tom, he was approaching the
breaking point.

Angela pulled up in the drive with a load of groceries from
town.   Tom hurried to the pickup intent on helping her.

Angela slammed the door, said "what do you want "  and
stomped in to the house.

Later that afternoon Tom went to Angela`s room intent on
either finding out what was wrong with her or making up .

Angela had just come out of the shower, drying her hair
and wearing a light robe when she answered the door.
To Tom she was the vision of perfection.  He stood open
mouthed and was even more astounded when Angela
put both arms around his neck and pulled him toward her.

As Tom straightened up and stepped back Angela let her
robe slip to the floor.
Without a moments hesitation he retrieved the robe and
placed it around her shoulders.
Turning his back Tom walked out of her life.   He gathered
his things, put them in a bag that he could sling around his
neck, left a note for Ben and trudged out to the highway.

As soon as Tom walked out of her room, Angela threw
herself on her bed and sobbed until she thought she would die.   She wanted him, she knew that no man on earth was
as good as Tom and he was the only man she could ever love.

Within a few moments of standing on the highway,  Tom
was picked up by a man traveling to Butte, Montana.
Tom said that was fine with him.
He was let out as the motorist stopped for gasoline in
downtown Butte.

This was the big city to Tom, he had never seen anything
like this-------------------Continued (see Ch. 5)

What? Why would Tom leave her like that? Did he think she was a hussy? I thought he thought she was beautiful...I am confused. I guess I will just have to read more and perhaps the answers will come.

Gone to read more....
