What is this hurt business ?

Were you not aware

Everything in life is good or

bad, ying or yang, plus or minus.

 

When you have joy you will have

sorrow.  When you are sad you

can look for sunshine tomorrow

Look for the "blues"

 

Fun and passion follow

That`s the way it works

To have pleasure you have to have experienced pain. This is so true, and although at times hard to accept, it takes away the pain and struggle of life if people could expect the bad with good, as it's the way of nature. Great write, and very true.

I like the simplicity in this piece. The way that you have posed the equal and opposite idea is very fluid and breaks down something that is not quite so fluid at times. It does however, at least for my viewing, offer empowerment.
That it is your choice if nothing else, that can reflect your outcome, regardless of the situation. As your poem points out, this is an inevitability.

I agree. We must have the dark to appreciate the light in this life. We must have pain and suffering to appreciate all the things that feeeeel good. We must have ugly...to understand pure beauty. All and all...the sun cannot always shine...but when it does...we should not take it for granted. xo

I happen to believe in hurt but hey, you tell it straight like it is in this poem...it's all part of life and typically when we least expect it.
