The Darkest Light

Young dreamers long retired
lost on plains of down-turned smiles
burnt in flames of sorrow
left to drown in pools of wrath's decay

the ever flowing river
on the edges of the earth reseed
to sands consuming
time and space reverse tomorrows yesterday

as petals wilt
on new sprung twigs of life
the willow tree
gathers strength from sorrows in the night

as drunken miseries
are brought to sobers wake
another swig will surly bring
life's clarity to blot the truth with light
