'My' TreeA Poem by PDQ Bail BondsIt's hard to believe that you and me, used to fight over an insignificant tree In the playground when we were innocent before I began my bitter descent into a darkness so cold and black and there you were, ready to attack You took my purity, my trust my soul and buried it deep into a five foot hole We were young lovers, happy, carefree At least that's what I wanted others to see So I could pretend along with them, build myself an imaginary den Where you and me, in high school, year three, were still fighting over an insignificant tree And even now you're gone and I'm free Walking in town, it's you I see I'm a stranger to you now, I never existed But it doesn't take a fool to know you missed it In your eyes, so quick to avoid me, in my mind I wish you'd ignored me But there was a time, high school, year three where you and I fought over an insignificant tree
