The Screaming ToiletA Poem by Earl SchumackerBut for the grace of God we can fly and flushThe Screaming Toilet
One morning while strolling in the park A screaming toilet fell from the sky A stewardess strapped to it like a rock Coming at me loud and meteoric Sometimes I wonder about such things Falling airline personnel in suits and ties Toilets working overtime without their wings Thinking about flushing away unwanted things Did someone forget to secure a bolt or two? Did the lady mistake it for a parachute? I often think about how safe it is to fly As screaming toilets fall from the sky
