Beauty

Beauty

A Poem by Earl Schumacker
"

Beauty delights us with a sense of worth

"
Beauty comes on the rolling waves of salty water
Shore lines lick what they can and leave the sand
Morning brings sunbeam delight on balance
On blue curvatures of Earth and all her lands

Rainbows bow in anticipation of the day
Surfaces pray, become their playground
Light bounces off the forces of gravity
Found in the smile of your love

Beauty looks to the sun for guidance
Turns to the moon for a direction home
For love, to be arrested by your charms
Majesty is found in heads she turns

You can not look away from beauty
Beauty delights us with a sense of worth
In the eye of the beholder there you are
A sparkle, a personality, fashioned from light
Don't look away now or I will die

Lovely lines, beautiful poetic expression and some wonderful imagery. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder and it can be identified sometimes where you would least expect it. I can remember the sunlight shining on the bronze circular walls of an old gasometer and thinking how it had been given a new lease of life. It looked wonderful at sunset. Thank you Earl.
