"To Cleave"

"To Cleave"

A Poem by Zetsubo Shi
"

My english class oneday set a challenge to use the word "cleave" in all its contexts I just like how this turned out

"

Cleave

He stares, a cleaver in his hand

To "cleave" this weakness from my chest

The reason why,  I may never understand

I was only ever vaguely informed at best

I was but an object to his lust

His affection not love in any notion

He cared only for cleavage, the size of my bust

Yet I prayed he discover a truer devotion

This dark room, my sanctuary for many days

But no longer will I mourn and grieve

And though the emptiness still remains

It is now my time to cleave

To cleave once more to a lovers name

To give the story another start

Although the outcome remains the same

You cannot break a shattered heart

Well. That was kind of sad.
I envy your ability to fit all those meanings into something that not only made sense but was a joy to read.
Great job.
