Goodbye, Me; Hello, Me

Goodbye, Me; Hello, Me

A Poem by Egao-onna

As I make the journey

I slowly begin to vanish

For 24 and 36 hours,

I am a shadowe

I am the paper on the walls.

They all have a grand time

I am invisible

They whittle the hours away merrymaking

Because I am not there

I’m a dark spot in the corner where the light cannot reach

A stain on the fabric of the home

Barely noticeable

Not Loved by anything real.

For 24 and 36 hours,

I cease to exist

I am the wind

Or a whispere

Counting down the hours

Until I can return to myself again.

Tick

Tock

The hands tick like molasses drips

As I the spectere watch and wait

As life goes on around me

I sit in silence

And no one sees me

I am content with this

For not being seen

Is better than being the centere of their fearsome attentions.
