A requiem for the childrenA Poem by Eileenidk just a bit sad about how few kids have a true childhood now days. When I was little, we said I want to be an astronaut I want to be a firefighter I want to be a chef I want to be a doctor I want to be a singer But now the only things I hear hurt my five-year-old heart I want to be a stripper I want to be a s**t I want to make money on only fans I want to get drunk Childhood should be stealing cookies from the cookie jar Not making fake ids to get into a bar Childhood should be knowing how to play outside Not talking about how dead you are inside Childhood should be worrying because you forgot to pray over your food Not whether or not your face is showing in a nude Childhood should be “girls' rule, boys drool” Not talking about which guys you want to smash during the carpool Childhood should be wearing bright miss matched colors from head to toe Not how much tits and a*s you can show Childhood should be pigtails and bows Not getting bullied if you don’t act like a hoe Childhood should be innocent and ignorant Not the fear of getting pregnant The children inside us are dead and dying Taking our childish dreams and crucifying From the dagger of society to the hearts of men there is penetration, Childhood shall never know this rising generation. © 2026 EileenAuthor's Note
