My first attempt at a Cinquain Poem using syllables

Anxious

Thoughts are racing

Jumpy panicky tense

Writing soothes my uneasiness

Nervous

I write about my unwanted friend anxiety a lot but I find I can express that emotion SO well........ Comments always welcome :)!!

You employed a few words to say a lot......getting those thoughts to calm down is as tough as holding down a runaway stallion.......then we try slow breathing......calm thoughts.....people that love us.....moments of clarity from the past are conjured up as reinforcements.....

I did read they are based on Haiku's

see I am so damn thick that i do not even know what a cinquain is...Something to do with 5 I guess...so that's the 5 lines sorted...what happens next? This is a very good write, I can associate with it, but i don't understand the pattern

Here is the breakdown I used..... also the shape should be as I have done.
Line 1 - one two syllable word usually the subject or title
Line 2 - four syllables describing the subject
Line 3 - six syllables showing action
Line 4 - eight syllables describing a feeling or observation
Line 5 - two syllables describing or renaming the subject

There is an old saying, about giving an apple to a teacher....As you just taught me about cinquains...I simply made a very very bad joke...Sorry..I'll do beter next time

I think the one here who has a problem with age is me...Keep experimenting, I do that now and again but still get drawn back to my strength of humour...You have much more time than I do in the race for whatever it is we are racing for
