How many times
Must the bumblebee cry,
Before it realizes
It will soon die?
Fifty times
Was the simplest of numbers,
And then it cried out
And died in its slumber.
Oh, how many days
Did that rhinoceros live,
Before it discovered
It had no more to give?
Twenty-five years
That rhino survived,
It went to the cliff
And then took a dive.
The world has taken
A terrible turn,
For billions of humans
Have started to burn.
The Earth had become
Less than a rock,
The natural world
Simply in shock.
For nothing is left
Of the beautiful world,
Killed by the heat
Now dead and cold.
So how many times
Must the owl hoot, "Who?"
The answer was hidden,
None had a clue.
Everything gone,
No sign of life.
Our world forgotten
God turns off the light.
