Our Skies

A Valentine poem

Your sky is the sunset

while I am the morning sun.

A night is between us,

a starless dawn.

Your passion a full spectrum

shut in clouds of rain.

Mine is a fiery cosmos;

a warm summer's gleam.

Over time, our skies

bypass the dark of night;

painting a rainbow bridge,

dreamy afternoon laughs.

I fire up your dreams;

you cool down my whims.

And over the horizon,

our colors kissed.

i don't like it---i love it.

opposites attract and you carried the metaphors of opposite horizons through this so beautifully i was mesmerized from start to finish..one of the best poems i have read in a long while.

man the ending is just an explosion...grabbed me and wouldn't let me go.
