Today, I felt alive.
A boat ride down the river
And around the lake sure did the trick.
The setting sun.
The wind in my face.
I close my eyes as the motor hummed
And breathed the sweet air
As the waves moved and were created around us.
Sure, I wasn't in the best mood to begin with
But I felt changed near the end.
The lake made me forget
As if the waves were swallowing my feelings.
Making me free.
If I lived around there
I would be more understanding.
I just felt the energy.
Connected with it.
Closed my eyes
And let myself go.
And with that,
I was finally free.

Ah yes, water has a way of calming us. I so envy those who live by the sea. Even here in little old Saskatchewan though we are lucky as it is the land of a thousand lakes...now if only our winters weren't so long and hideously cold.
