I used to write to you at night.

Nothing due to freight.

But perhaps, I just might.

Be in love with you.

 

I penned your name on every shade of white.

Just to fill the spaces.

 

Where were you when the world went dark?

You were there.

Waiting for me to make it through.

And I also, for you.

 

Standing on the other side.

With arms open wide.

Just for me to run into them.

 

All I want you to know is:

I haven't forgotten you.

You cross my mind all the time.

 

Another is that:

I'll always love you.

No matter what happens.

Forget the bullshit we've been through.

Though through it all,

I will still love you.

Author's Note

This poem is about my ex-girlfriend, Rachel. She and I went out for about 4 months, though we both lived in different states. Soon after we broke up, I realized how much I truly loved her and how much she meant to me. We haven't talked in about 2 years or more, I've lost count it's been so long. I miss her and hope to talk to her soon.
