Job

Job

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

What does it take

To be good at ones job?

The question arose soon as I

Was seated near the office.

Watching the lady at her desk.

Calm and collected.

All her day consisted of

Was answering a phone.

Typing away at her computer

I began to wonder if she missed home.

If she'd rather be there

Than sitting in this office behind her desk.

I wouldn't mind a laid back day like hers.

Though every day would seem the same.

Time would speed up and slow down.

Either way,

The days would change.

A job is a job.

A part of life.

Maybe one day

It'll be a part of mine.
