Please, could you
Help me write my life?
I want a new start.
On a fresh sheet of paper.

Could I take a new
Plunge down the old Rabbit Hole?
To a new home.
A whole new life.

I want to re-write
Who I am.
Who I once was.
Please, could we
Start a new chapter?

Allow me to skip the mistakes.
Of telling oh what a fool
I had bothered making of myself.
Do believe me, that was Her.

She couldn't possibly
Be me.

Could she?

Author's Note

Pretty straightforward, I guess. The "Her" and "She" in this piece being the old me as I try to convince myself that she couldn't still be who I am now. The new me wanting to start over and leave the old me behind, in the past.

Ah, a familiar emotion here... the wanting to forget mistakes of the past...
This poem dug up personal emotions for me, which is great - I believe if a poem can evoke that kind of feeling in a person that it is indeed a great work.
I really loved the wording here especially in the very first stanza
