I know we broke up
And agreed to be just friends,
But there are a few things
That I feel I must ask:

Would I still be allowed
To hold you close?
So your heated body
Could shield me from the evening chill.

Would I still be allowed
To admire your smile?
The very one that sent electric currents
Up and down my spine.

Would I still be allowed
To call your phone?
Just to hear your voice
During a rotten day.

And most important...

Would I still be allowed
To tell you goodnight?
Hoping we both would
Have the most pleasant of dreams.
