Recognize

Recognize

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I've heard a million names.
Heard even more stories.
But who are they, really?

They see me, smile.
Wave in my direction.
Yet, I couldn't recognize them.

I glance at their faces,
But they only hold blank.
Shadow faces is what they are.

Why am I here with them?
What importance do I hold?
I must mean something.

If I could recognize them,
I would.
But all I can do is stare.

Into their blank faces.

Completely feel like this every time I go to a public place by myself.
