Doormat

Doormat

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Here I lay,
Please, don't be shy.
I say, step on me.
I love how it feels!
I can never get enough.
The feeling of shoes meeting carpet.
Biting, suffocating.
Such a priceless thing.
I am a doormat.
All day, everyday.
Just here to welcome you.
Walk and trod all over me.
C'mon, don't be shy!

Author's Note

I Am Svetlana
I wrote this the other day and it basically can be seen two ways: the view from the doormat itself or it could be seen as a person and how they are used over and over, hence being treated like a doormat. I've felt like this before and it's not fun...I nearly cried trying to write this.

I see the emotional side to this and it does tug at one's heart strings but the Gemini in me sees the plain 'take me as I am' whimsical side to the piece and views it as a bare foot thinking 'God I hope it's a soft one and not one of those hard rubbery monstrosities people use in the winter time for their boots.
Either way nicely done and enjoyable. :)
