Beautiful Bodies

Beautiful Bodies

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

They said we had
"Beautiful bodies".
This was nothing, but a lie.
My hair never fell correctly.
I had mountains of pimples on my face.
Eyes looked too tired.
My body too thin, they said.
Even my reflection was repulsed.
This was no beautiful body.
How could I ever be comfortable
In "this"?

But after awhile,
I began to think:
Who needs a "perfect body" when
You could just forget about it?
Take time to make yourself smile.
Be you, be happy.
This is truly
What a beautiful body looks like!

Beauty, it defines everything attractive to our eyes. But real beauty is mostly felt, you don't need to have a pretty physical apprerance just to get notice, a shiny heart is much more beautiful than the sparkling things. I am not good looking, and hell I have a terrible body, but I just do keep moving forward, to make myself a better person than i am before. very nice piece.

I myself get reminded that I'm too skinny, I do need a regular sleeping pattern, my post-op operation ( for my scoliosis) on my back leaves a cool scare but my back is still miss shapen, it's just how it's going to be. Really good piece that I can relate. I'm lucky that pimples was not a big deal for me though.
