Answering Smile

I woke up to a
Warm beam of sunlight.
My answering smile
Responded with utter delight.

I walked up to a homeless man,
Dropped a few dollars into his cup.
His answering smile
Showed nothing but gratitude.

I told you that we needed to talk.
Something wasn't right.
But your answering smile
Showed that you already knew.

I confessed a love for someone new.
Something was definitely not right.
Your answering smile
Instantly faded that harsh, silent night.

Yes, I love this someone new.
But I will always want you.
My answering smiles
Will always show love, regrets and gratitude.

This is sweet and shows such a bitterswwet tenderness. how a persons love, and understanding, can outweigh any troubles that the world is burdening us with. Sometimes it takes just that answering smile. to show things are truly not that bad at all. This brought tears to my eyes and Its one of my favorites. I loved this, especially how you used the title as a recurring line within the piece. This is something I can really relate to, very recently to. Love is an ever changing concept, and there are so many different kinds of love; Many people do not understand that just because you change, move on, find someone new, does not mean your love for them dies, maybe different, but still there all the same.

In the 4th stanza, is is supposed to be 'You answering' or ' Your answering'?

All in all a great piece, keep up the good work.
