Sunshine

Sunshine

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

There was a woman so divine.

One day, she would be mine.

Let us call her Sunshine.

But soon, I’d have to settle for next time.

In her eyes, I could picture us flying.

Never, ever, would I bother lying.

She was a flawless diamond

That I couldn’t stop shining.

She was someone every guy wished to have.

But I couldn’t risk not tryin’.

Or peek up, see her hopelessly cryin’.

My feelings for her were soon inevitable.

I couldn’t just be around her, I had to have her.

I felt it was too right for the world to not see.

For forever, my Sunshine, she would be.

I really do like this one. Makes we want to write something similar. An experience that I'm sure we can all relate to. Very good way to execute the challenge of putting yourself in your friend's shoes and describing perfectly the emotions they would have. Excellent piece.

Broken.
