A friend and I were
Too close to dying to understand.
On the bedroom wall,
We saw our lives.
Printed. Pasted.
We were too lonely to budge.
All we had was each other today.
And tomorrow?
Who knew what that would bring us.
A great thought that speaks of potential, negative or positive?- that's for later, this seems to me to be exploring the potential of tommorow And wether or not it will be better than today, that's not as important this is just that moment. Love it!
It is so extremely short, and yet somehow manages to stay incredibly poignant. I find that to be a very difficult thing to pull off, but you have managed to do it very well. I like this piece a lot! =]
The only piece of constructive criticism I could offer would be the "All we had was each other today" line. I don't know what it is about it, but it made me sort of fumble over it while reading in a way. But, as I said, that was all I could really find to stop myself from doing nothing but praise it. Hahaha. Very good write. =]
I imagined to friends in a room lit faintly, possibly by a candle, yet still very dark. On the wall were photos of the past, happy times together shadowed by sad and horrid times which clouded the darkness upon the walls.
There was sadness, loss, and still, friendship, a future together.
Well done. ^^
