I Had to Ask

I Had to Ask

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Life, I had to ask:
Who was I anymore?

I lived in the pages of a book,
Soon becoming the written text.
I absorbed the smiles in magazines,
Wishing to find my own.
I walked through my dreams over & over,
Trying to find a new meaning.

Life, I had to ask:
Who was I anymore?

I love how you started and ended on the same note. Half my life, I lived in books. Sometimes, I wouldn't even realize it. Great poem, keep writing!
