Counting Steps

Counting Steps

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I did not know and
Took the harder route.
Now I am counting
My steps back home.
If once I had been shown the way,
I wouldn't have forgotten
How many steps I took.
A spoiled, rude, wasteful little girl.
That's what I was.
And I couldn't bring myself
To make it all the way home.
