Surely Nothing

Surely Nothing

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Do you have a life
Which I can share with you?
I surely have nothing here.
No secure friends.
No proper parents.
Where can I go to?

Do you have something special
That I can cherish and hold?
I surely have nothing here.
No caring friends.
No parents who understand.
Just books, pens and notebooks.

Do you have someone worthy
Who I can love?
I surely have nothing here.
No honorable friends.
No trusting parents.
Just stick with my mind.

Surely nothing, I have.

I love the way this poem is asking a question. Many poets try to do this but it usually makes the story come off as depressing or too hyper. I love the way you express the character' inner turmoil while still keeping the question clear they want answered. I love the flow of this poem. Very we'll done!!!!

The entire poem goes well in its structure. There is a feeling of sadness all throughout. Chin up, things will be better eventually^_^
