Magic Man

Magic Man

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I was so comfortable
in my hush-edged aloness,
then I heard footsteps echo.

Part of me wonders who he was.
A stranger to be afraid of?
His body was dangerously close.

Instead, he became gentle,
like some kind of magician.
I make out the
shimmer in his eyes.

My heart savoring the heavens.
My mind is in a whole
other place, wanting
to devour him.

"Can we keep this
between you and me?" he asked.
Our luscious little secret, but
will t bring happiness?

Ahhh . . . Little secrets indeed. I think mayhap this one you want to devour has his own little secret, which will eventually bode treacherously dangerous.
