Human Shell

Human Shell

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Imagining the
emotions involved.
Can you hear me?
Don't you say that!
I can hear through
really thick walls.
I even see dead blossoms.
When I close my eyes,
I see wild horses flee.
Courage & power.
Rubbed smooth by innocence.
Nowadays, evil is streetwise.
Claiming the drive,
the climb.
Creating a perfect blank.
Shall I then
cling to solid ground?
I walked through the rain,
water tumbling down my throat.
I feel no sting.
Now I know:
I am just a shell
left in a human body.
