Homeless Forever

Homeless Forever

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

As I lay
on a carpet
of ash,
he left me
a rose.

That's what
I remember.

I had to
accept being
homeless forever.
As the road
breathed scavengers.

It's the box that
kept on giving,
but all were unaware
of what they were taking.

What a land of nightmares...
