Dead Girl

Dead Girl

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I saw a dead girl
and wondered how she lived.

I bet she escaped through books.
I bet she loved hard.
Was her heart ever complete?

I often wonder
how dead souls keep on living
day to day.

Have they always thought
nobody cared?

I bet lots of people
loved her just as she was.
Her wild heart
and curious mind.

I saw a dead girl
and wondered how she lived.

Nobody knew
I was a dead girl too.

I love this. Simple, but very compact. Tells a sad story which is often relatable. I sometimes feel like in this poem in the way that I observe people and wonder about them. I really like this one. Well done. The last two lines really tied this poem together and made it how emotional and special it is.
