Disappearing Act

Disappearing Act

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

In the cool days
of autumn, since my first
journey of leaving thoughts behind,
I began to see my true self.

A crawl through tunnels
towards happiness,
than to be alone
and treated badly.

A brisk walk to the edge.
A wish to believe in love.
Plunged past the depths,
into fresh air to breathe again.

Finally, I am here.
I ask you to do as I did
and not be the act

that disappears.
