The Second Woman

The Second Woman

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

There was once a time
where I wasn't the only one.
A second woman you wanted too.
When she was around,
you seemed to forget all about me.
Your girlfriend, the one you really loved.

I soon forgot about myself too.
She was prettier, funnier, happier.
She had it all, all I could never be.
How did you allow such a disaster?
I was your girlfriend,
the one you really loved.

What made you do this?
Getting such satisfaction, acting young again,
all the while not realizing
you were breaking me over & over again.
Everyday, every passing moment, I knew
I could never please you in the same way

as the second woman.

Even though I was your girlfriend,
the one you really loved.

Sad poem. So in the end the girlfriend becomes the second woman, ehhh. But well written and nicely crafted.
