Ink Veins

Ink Veins

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I wonder if you know
that with this ink in my veins,
I contain unspeakable power.
A chorus of voices
spitting through a ballpoint pen,
which taught me how to be strong
when my heart was nothing.
Burying my sins on a page,
I caught myself smiling
at the ashes of the past.
Left in silence once more
to count the scars
within my fragile world.

You write beautifully. It's like a song. Very deep and longing.

Love the message of empowerment through your voice on the page.

Unspeakable power, how aesthetically pleasing! I'm a little curious about what kind of smile you were making towards the ashes of the past, because you lost me in your "fragile world". Not sure how to interpret those last three lines and I'm hoping your smile might uncover that =]

Love this! And it is true, the pen is mightier than the sword. Beautiful poem, keep writing :)
