I Miss You Most

I Miss You Most

A Poem by I Am Svetlana
"

I miss you most when the last leaves fall...

"
I miss you most
when the last leaves fall.
Happiness was a chase
I soon gave up on
while watching
the world burn.
Why was I still
searching for ways to leave?
Hanging onto a
thread of hope
that I should wake
to find you standing
outside my window.
Begging me to come down.
Perhaps to hear you say
"Hello" or "good morning" again.
Waiting on the doorstep
with a coffee in hand.
I did everything I could
to protect that dream
and it always
leaves me shattered,
I miss you most
when the last leaves fall,
but all I'm left with
is this bed of thorns
to capture my solitude.

This is so touching. Longing for someone and the things you were doing before... It is not easy to forget and give up though when you really love that person. We often relate them with the event, season or occasion we celebrate with them in the past.

Very sad and definetly filled with such longing, and hope. Really heartbreaking emotional write.
This is beautiful as well even though it is quite the sad little poem.
Great write Em :)

I relate all too well to the longing, the wondering, the wishing, and you give autumn a life of its own, in your heart and mind, the leaves falling, everything becoming bare and exposed, and all that is left is the bitter chill. So beautifully painful.
