Letter to a StrangerA Poem by I Am Svetlana
Oh Dear Stranger,
I am wanting to get this off my chest. Whatever the consequences, it'll be worth it. I have to go to church to atone my sins. I'm just a pale substitute. Something sad and wounded. An empty-headed blow-up doll blessed with a curse. I'm not afraid of being on my own, but I'm an easy target, aren't I? It's such a shame you cannot change the past. None of what I write may matter to you at all... but I'm just here to say: "I am not a monster, just someone who's misunderstood."
