Adrenaline

Adrenaline

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

The world seems to shrink

whenever I need to mask

the storm of emotions beneath.

It is not a kind creature

even in the shallows.

I find sanctuary in the small things.

Such calm let’s me forget who I am.

Quiet, calculating.

I’m grateful that no one here

can read my mind.

A single girl laughing

alone in the darkness.

Stupid? Maybe,

but I am not delusional.

only time will tell.
