Farewell Friend

Farewell Friend

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Seasons were never nameless.

You were never meant to die young.

How could one forget you?

The one with a sweet voice

& gentle hands"you

ate others loneliness.

Instilled a calmness in me,

became another source of light.

Have you been dreaming lately?

I’ll make sure to

name a star after you.

No one should leave love behind,

but I’ll keep the sunlight

alive for you.

All that you carried, now grow tired

of fighting the unseen.

Memories never die, they live with us.

I wrote your name backwards

& it’s still beautiful.

Nothing brings you back now.

How do you let go of grief?

I want to say all the goodbyes

& that it’ll be okay.

They’ll forgive you.

I forgive you.
