Close Mind Tricks

Close Mind Tricks

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Never thought

You could forget me.

I thought we were close

But I guess

I was wrong.

My mind loves

To play tricks on me.

Especially with people

Like you.

You are different from me

But I wish we were the same.

Wish you had never

Forgotten me.

I now hate this trick

My mind has played.

The trick that made me believe

We were closer than life itself.

For that

Would never be possible

Now that I am forgotten.

This is so sad! I feel for the subject spoken of, because it almost feels like there is some sort of mistaken assumption here. What if the subject you speak of had never forgotten you at all? An intriguing read, nonetheless.
