"Glasses" Girl

"Glasses" Girl

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

She was considered

"That" girl.

The girl with glasses.

The spectacles.

She would walk down the hallway

And everyone would stare.

But no way would she let them

Get to her.

They were too good for her

And it was clear

She didn't belong.

But the glasses

Are what made the girl

Get that urge of motivation

To walk down that hallway that day

And show them

That they didn't get to her.

That she was still standing

And pushing on.

Hello Truly Dead Silver,

Or Emily, as I prefer. I am not a girl, but I wear glasses, mostly because I cannot stand to look into my own eyes or play with them. It completely freaks me out like a little 3 year old girl. Quite funny if you are there when it occurs.

The eyes are special, and very important. Whatever reason someone wears them, it should always be respected. If this poem is about yourself...anyone who gives you issue....ice pick to the throat..quick easy solution.

Always,

Matthew

I agree with Ghost, it's a good way for girls, especially, to not feel so insecure about themselves. Glasses, especially very large ones, have always been a symbol of 'nerd' or 'dork' and pieces like this help show people that they don't have to fit that mould

(even though nerds and dorks rule)

very nice! (: and i imagine inspiring to any girl who feels dorky or geeky in their glasses. this is the kind of thing you should have kids read the day before they have to wear glasses in class the first time. :D nice
