Not Meant to Be

I never thought you'd be so thoughtless

And just shut me out.

You depart in the night

And expect me to be okay.

 

After that,

I will never be.

You meant something to me.

You earned and held a good amount of my heart.

It was your selfishness

Which made you this way.

 

Was I not good enough?

I know I'm not the best.

Was I not pretty enough?

I always knew I wasn't.

Was I not honest?

I opened my heart and let it live.

What else could I do?

I could never keep you around.

I guess this just wasn't meant to be.
