I Am the Words

I Am the Words

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

I am the words of this place.

I say them for my sake.

Words that no one dare to take.

Unless to be burned upon the stake.

I made you walk the plank into the lost, blue ocean.

Never to return without words all your own.

Everyone has their own words

And I refuse to let you take mine.

My words have saved me from the darkest hell

I've experienced.

Today, I stand talk thanks to them.

I am the words

And they are me.

Together, forever

We shall be.

Not bad at all! I think you had a misstep here: 'Every has their own words'. I think I understand what you were saying, but ...

Love your sense of pace, your evocative structure. Well done. Keeping me interested in any kind of poetry is next to impossible. You caught and held my attention!
