Confession

Dear Me,

 

I never meant to turn out this way.

Never wanted to disappoint anyone.

No one thought I would end up like this,

 

Hurting myself like I have.

No one knew.

I told no one about my secret.

 

I kept it deep in my stomach.

My heart ached to find truth for myself.

I craved for others to hear me,

But I never dared to speak out.

Never thought my voice would be heard.

 

Now I'm sitting here,

Upset and depressed.

Not knowing how to solve this.

Here's my fault

I confess to you.

 

I never loved myself like I should have.

Always saw some sort of flaw.

Wanted to be like every other girl

Though I was already skinnier than them.

How did I see them as thinner than I was?

 

Some crazy scheme in my mind,

To achieve this nearly impossible goal.

But I went for it.

And this is how I turned out.

 

Now I turn over

My confession to you.

Love the idea of a "confession".....this is the heart's confession to the soul, a truly beautiful piece.....it takes the reader on a journey of deeply felt emotions....
Particularly loved the 5th stanza......indeed our mindsets really can fool us....hope you now see your own true beauty and worth.....lifes greatest gift....:)

Wow, really awesome write! We keep a lot of things tucked away in us for a great deal length of time. Mostly 'cause we're afraid of what others would think. It's ok to keep some things hidden, but it's also good to express what needs to be expressed, cause it feels good getting some things off the chest. Like a huge weight is lifted because of it. It's not our fault tho. Most things arent our fault. But it's also great to have someone to talk to about things, too, and not be judged. This is an excellent piece, great job! I hope things get better :)
