A Poem by I Am Svetlana

As the day ends

I don’t mind that you aren’t here.

I can survive without you.

I have grown on my own.

Not needing or craving your help.

By myself

I have learned to move on.

I am stronger because of this choice.

Don’t tell me you need me

Cause I won’t answer.

Don’t call me expecting my help.

I won’t bother to pick up.

My mouth won’t open for you

Unless you have an explanation

For the way we are.

I can’t end this

Our friendship.

It means too much for me.

But I refuse to talk to you

Unless you explain everything to me.

What made you this way towards me?

But no longer will I allow to be treated like this.

The no one who’s always been there for you.

Now it’s your turn to be here for me.

Pull your own weight.

Then we’ll talk.

I love the ideas in this poem. "I can't end this. Or friendship. It means too much for me. But I refuse to talk to you"- I can definitely identify with this. Great poem!
