Recovery and You

Recovery and You

A Poem by I Am Svetlana

Don't turn me away once things

Got better.

I found him and we slowly put eachother

Back together.

Both damaged,

We both started off new and strong.

The day went on as our words

Grew stronger.

Don't hate me when I admit

Who I am.

No one can change me

But I pray for you to make me

Better.

Cure me of the past.

Lock up and suffocate the

Nightmares I see.

I want them no more.

All I want is you.

Good poem, especially liked the lines: 'I found him and we slowly put eachother
Back together.' It's an honest poem, recovery isn't always pretty nor does it have to be and it works for me.

thanks for sharing

This is simply good! Patrick Sean Purdy is right, this would make a fantastic song. Thank you for expressing your honest self. :)

I could so easily put this to music. Simple, agreeable and finely spun. If you did two more stanzas on the same theme and a chorus it would be a hit.

Simple yet really well done. This was my favorite line 'Lock up and suffocate the Nightmares I see' it was very good.
